Shawnee State University

Weinbrecht was a vital coach and sports administrator who taught and coached at Ohio University-Portsmouth prior to the formation of Shawnee State as a junior college institution.

Weinbrecht then was instrumental in helping Shawnee State transition to four-year programs and the NAIA level upon the early formation of the university in general. Weinbrecht also taught and coached at Portsmouth High School prior to his career in administration and became the athletic director at NCAA Division III Mount St. Joseph in the Cincinnati area after retiring from Shawnee State.

Along with his service in sports, Weinbrecht was also a Korean War veteran.

He is a member of the Shawnee State Athletics Hall of Fame, having been inducted into the Hall of Fame's inaugural Class of 2000 as part of its six-member class.
