Shawnee State University

Purcell was a four-year starter on the Shawnee State University basketball team and was a member of the 1999 National Championship team with her sister Mamie.  She was a 1000-point scorer for the Lady Bears and is a Member of the Shawnee State Hall of Fame.

Her 1999 NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship team is also a member of the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame.
