PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- With a single in the sixth inning of the
Bears' 16-7 win over IU Kokomo on Friday,
Eli Jones joined Shawnee State baseball's 100-hit club.
Jones is the second player in the last seven days to reach 100 career hits at Shawnee State, as
Jace Parnin eclipsed the milestone last Saturday in Oakland City.
The junior is the fourth active player in the club, joining
Parnin,
Zach Gaspar and
Diego Mendoza.
Jones leads Shawnee State in batting average (.418) and on-base percentage (.500), and is second in walks (16).
Shawnee State returns to action Saturday, April 18, when it hosts IU Kokomo at Branch Rickey Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
