PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Reinhardt University announced Monday that it has hired Shawnee State's Rob Ehlers as its next head baseball coach.

Reinhardt, an NAIA school, competes in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).

The Eagles' baseball program began in 2004, and has posted four NAIA Opening Round bids with an NAIA World Series appearance in 2018.

Ehlers is set to become the fifth coach in Reinhardt Baseball history.

In three seasons at Shawnee State, Ehlers compiled a 89-57 cumulative record while posting a 47-27 mark within the River States Conference.

Ehlers was named River States Conference Coach of the Year in 2024, and led Shawnee State to an NAIA National Tournament appearance in 2026 -- the program's first since 2011.
