MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The River States Conference has selected Shawnee State's Abbie Deeds as its Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Deeds, from Ironton, Ohio, earned three wins in starts against Bryan (Tenn.), IU Southeast and Brescia.

The freshman struck out 18 batters across 16 innings of work, including 12 in the Bears 5-1 win over Brescia.

She allowed four earned runs on the week and has a 2.72 ERA on the season.

Shawnee State returns to action Tuesday, March 10, when it hosts Cedarville for two games at Portsmouth High School at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
