GREENWOOD, Ind. -- As with the men's golf program, the women's golf program also placed two individuals on the 2025 College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District Team -- as Shawnee State women's golfers Cali Baird and Aly Wellman were each named to the unit as announced by national officials within the CSC organization Tuesday afternoon. Additionally, Wellman was put on the CSC-NAIA At-Large Academic All-America ballot to boot.
Baird, who holds a 3.72 GPA in sociology, is a repeat College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District who has passed over 115 hours of academic credit. Baird has made the Shawnee State President's List in two out of her last three semesters on campus and is a multi-time River States Conference and NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
Athletically, Baird has been in the scoring lineup throughout her career at Shawnee State.
Wellman, who has been either Shawnee State's No. 1 or No. 2 scoring golfer in the lineup throughout each of her first two seasons on campus, sports a 3.75 GPA as an integrated language arts AYA 7-12 major, and has passed over 75 hours of academic credit while making the Dean's List in every semester of her academic career at SSU.
Athletically, Wellman posted three top-10s and five top-15 finishes in seven events during the 2024-25 season, followed up her 2024 Ohio Christian University Spring Invitational Medalist performance with a third-place finish to earn 2025 OCU Spring Invitational Medalist honors, and lowered her scorecard by nearly three full strokes from her freshman season in 2023-24 to her sophomore campaign in 2024-25.
Wellman, who posted a season won-loss-tie record of 102-88-2, is a 2025 RSC Scholar-Athlete and 2025 NAIA Scholar-Athlete who earned CSC Academic All-District honors in her first season eligible for the award.
