Box Score CHILLICOTHE, Ohio -- Shawnee State (31-17, 16-11) fell to IU Southeast 11-1 Saturday morning in the River States Conference Tournament. The Bears will now face the winner of Brescia and Oakland City Saturday night at 7 p.m.
IU Southeast's Bryson Arnette opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first to put the Grenadiers ahead 2-0.
Wyatt Haupt recorded an RBI groundout in the top of the second to cut IU Southeast's lead to 2-1.
The Grenadiers scored three runs in the fourth to extend their lead to 5-1.
Gabe Yonto hit a solo home run in the fifth to put the Grenadiers ahead 6-1.
IU Southeast scored four more runs in the sixth to push its lead to 10-1.
The Grenadiers scored one more run in the bottom of the seventh to go ahead 11-1, ending the game due to the 10-run rule.
Carson Wireman took the loss, allowing six runs on eight hits four walks over five innings while striking out five.
Eli Jones and
Zach Gaspar both went 1-for-3, with Gaspar legging out a double.
Larry Drake finished 1-for-2, and
Wyatt Haupt went 0-for-2 with an RBI.
