MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- For the second consecutive week, and fourth time this season,
Diego Mendoza has been named River States Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
In four games last week, Mendoza slashed .500/.545/.950, hit two home runs and recorded 13 RBI.
Mendoza, a front-runner for conference player of the year, is the only player in the River States Conference that has earned the honor four times.
Among qualifying players in the River States Conference, Mendoza ranks first in RBI (63), and second in batting average (.394) and home runs (13).
Shawnee State returns to action Thursday, April 30, when it travels to VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio, to face Midway in the first round of the River States Conference Tournament. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
