MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- For the third time this season, the River States Conference has named Diego Mendoza its Baseball Player of the Week.

In four games last week, Mendoza slashed .588/.667/.823, slugged four home runs and drove in 12 runs.

The fifth-year senior's best performance came in the Bears' 21-4 win over Salem on Tuesday, where he went 4-for-6 with two home runs and six RBI.

Mendoza is the only player in the River States Conference that has earned the honor three times.

On the season, he is batting .380 and leads Shawnee State in hits (57), home runs (11), RBI (50), doubles (11), walks (19) and slugging percentage (.687).

He's second in the River States conference in home runs and RBI.

Shawnee State returns to action Tuesday, April 21, when it travels to Western Hills Baseball Field in Frankfort, Kentucky, to face Kentucky State. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
