MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- For the second time this season, the River States Conference named
Diego Mendoza its River States Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
The redshirt senior slashed .538/.555/1.076 in four games last week, with a double, two home runs and eight RBI.
Mendoza's best performance came in
Sunday's first game against West Virginia Tech, where he went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and five RBI.
This is the second time Mendoza has received the weekly honor this season,
as the Puerto Rico native was named conference player of the week on Monday, Feb. 17, following a 6-for-13 week with two doubles, two home runs and nine RBIÂ against Toccoa Falls.
Shawnee State baseball returns to action Tuesday, March 31, when it hosts Campbellsville at Branch Rickey Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.
