CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Two stout top-25 times from
Isaiah Lanoy and
Trevor Lanoy proved to be big performances for the Shawnee State men's cross country program Friday evening at the All-Ohio XC Classic in Cedarville, with
Isaiah Lanoy's 24:50.2 allowing the redshirt sophomore to claim a sixth-place finish and Shawnee State posting an eighth-place mark as a team Friday evening.
Isaiah Lanoy, who was one of nine runners in the 383-harrier field to post a time under 25 minutes in the event, outran all nine NCAA Division I runners from Kent State in the event. The Bears finished just 10 points back of the Golden Flashes, who finished seventh, thanks in large part to Lanoy's time.
Behind him,
Trevor Lanoy proved to be consistent -- running a 25:32.4 to place himself 22nd overall. It marks the third straight meet where Isaiah and
Trevor Lanoy finished first and second among all Shawnee State men's cross country finishers in as many meets during the 2025 season.
"This evening was the best race that I've seen in Isaiah's career thus far," Shawnee State Director of Cross Country and Track and Field
Conner Flynn said. "It was just off his personal best, but to compete and battle up front the way he did in this heat and on this course was exciting to see.Ā I'm happy with how Trevor ran this evening too -- to run 45 seconds faster than last year at All-Ohio is a good day, and I know he will continue to improve."
The men's cross country programĀ also posted three additionalĀ runners in the top-100 overall, with
Connor Darnell,
Jerry O'Dell and
Kaiden Lanoy all finishing inside the top-100. Darnell placed 66th with a 26:15.5, O'Dell grabbed 86th with a 26:32.2, and
Kaiden Lanoy ran a 26:39.3 as the trio each finished comfortably inside the top third of the field.
Dakotah Sanders (205th, 28:17.4),
Rowen Lloyd (263rd, 29:25.9) and
Jared Flowers (329th, 31:55.7) rounded out the finishing order for Shawnee State.
The Bears will be back in action in two weeks time when Shawnee State's JV runners compete at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational in Delaware, Ohio Friday, Oct. 3, while the varsity runners will participate in the Live in Lou XC Classic Saturday, Oct. 4 in Louisville, Ky.
