Conner Flynn was named Shawnee State's director of cross country and track & field in 2023.
2023-24
In Flynn's first cross country season at Shawnee State, his men's team won the River States Conference Championship and finished the year ranked No. 14 nationally. Aiden Kammler, Shawn Little, Trevor Lanoy and Kaiden Lanoy were each selected to the All-RSC First Team. The men's team posted a 12th-place finish at the NAIA National Championships, with Kammler and Little earning NAIA All-American honors. The women's team finished second in the River States Conference, with Mckenna Pannell, Jessical Elick and Juniper Allen earning All-RSC Third-Team honors and Olivia Cisco being named to the All-RSC First Team. All of the above resulted in Flynn being named River States Conference Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2023.
Shawnee State's men's and women's indoor track and field teams each placed fourth at the River States Conference Championships. On the men's side, Justin Moore took first place in the shot put and weight throw events, while Aiden Kammler won the mile and 3,000-meter events. Moore and Kammler were named to the All-RSC First Team, while Dylan French earned Second-Team honors and Alex Morris was named to the Third Team. Kammler finished as the runner-up in the 5,000-meter event at the NAIA National Championships, earning NAIA All-American honors, while Justin Moore placed ninth in the shot put. On the women's side, Haidyn Wamsley took first place in the high jump at the RSC Championships, while Jozi Brown won the 3,000-meter event. Wamsley was named to the All-RSC First Team, while Brown and Natalie Brammer earned Second-Team honors.
Aiden Kammler took first place in the 1,500, 3,000 and 10,000-meter events at the River States Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, while Justin Moore and Alan Austin won the shot put and discus events, respectively. Kammler was named River States Conference Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, while Moore was named River States Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year. Kammler placed 14th and 7th in the 10,000 and 5,000-meter events at the NAIA National Championships, earning NAIA All-American honors, while Moore placed third in the shot put to earn NAIA All-American honors.
2024-25
Shawnee State's men's cross country team earned its ninth consecutive conference championship in 2024, taking first place at the River States Conference Championship Meet, and was ranked No. 15 nationally in the final poll. Five athletes earned all-conference honors, with Isaiah Lanoy and Kaiden Lanoy being named to the First Team, while Trevor Lanoy, Shawn Little and Dylan French were selected to the Second Team. The men's team placed 14th at the NAIA National Championship Meet. The women placed second at the River States Conference Championship Meet. Olivia Cisco repeated as an All-RSC First-Team selection, finishing as the conference runner-up. Jessica Elick earned Second-Team honors, while Beth Middleton and Juniper Allen were named to the Third Team. Cisco placed 52nd at the NAIA National Championship Meet.
Shawnee State's men's track and field team placed second at the River States Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, highlighted by Luke Rader's victories in the long jump, triple jump and 55-meter hurdles, while Eli Adkins claimed the high jump title. Rader earned both River States Conference Men's Indoor Track Newcomer of the Year and Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year honors. At the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships, Rader placed eighth in the long jump to claim NAIA All-American honors. On the women's side, Olivia Cisco and Jaina Bailey posted runner-up finishes in the 3,000-meter and shot put, respectively. Jessican Elick and Kirsten Evans were both named to the All-RSC Third Team. Cisco finished 10th in the 5,000-meter at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Alan Austin won the shot put and discuss events at the River States Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, while Luke Rader took first place in the long jump and triple jump events. Isaiah Lanoy and Eli Adkins won the 3,000-meter steeplechase and high jump, respectively. The men's team finished as runner-ups at the RSC Outdoor Championship Meet. Rader earned All-American honors in high jump and long jump at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, while Eli Adkins earned All-American honors in high jump. The women's team finished seventh at the River States Conference Championships. Olivia Cisco placed 14th in the 10,000-meters at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, while Natalie Brammer finished 18th in the 5,000-meter racewalk.
2025-26
The men's cross country team finished third at the River States Conference Championship Meet. Isaiah Lanoy and Trevor Lanoy were named All-RSC First-Team honorees, while Kaiden Lanoy and Connor Darnell were selected to the Second and Third Teams, respectfully. Isaiah Lanoy earned NAIA All-American honors with a 21st-place finish at the NAIA National Championship Meet. The women's team finished second at the River States Conference Meet. Olivia Cisco and Jesica Elick were named to the All-RSC First Team. Cisco finished as the RSC runner-up for the second consecutive year. Beth Middleton and Payton McQuirt were named to the Second Team, while Juniper Allen earned All-RSC Third-Team honors. Cisco placed 34th at the NAIA National Championship Meet to earn NAIA All-American honors.
Shawnee State's men's indoor track and field team won four individual events at the River States Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, with Luke Rader winning the long jump and triple jump events, Eli Adkins taking first in the high jump and Chayse Lipscomb winning the 55-meter hurdles. Luke Rader earned his second consecutive RSC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year award. Isaiah Lanoy earned All-American honors at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships with an 8th-place finish in the 5,000 meters. The women's team placed fourth at the RSC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Olivia Cisco took second place in the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter events, Makaela Lovely took second in the high jump and Jaina Bailey placed third in the weight throw.
The men's and women's track and field teams combined for six championships and three runner-ups at the River States Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The men placed third, with Isaiah Lanoy winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 5,000-meter events, Chayse Lipscomb winning the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles, Luke Rader taking first in triple jump and Eli Adkins taking first in the high jump. Connor Ignacio finished second in the javelin. Chayse Lipscomb was named River States Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year and Luke Rader was named River States Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year. Isaiah Lanoy earned his third All-American honor of the academic year at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, placing fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Luke Rader also earned his third career All-American honor, placing eighth in the high jump, while Chayse Lipscomb earned his first career All-American honor with an eighth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles. Jaina Bailey posted a second-place finish in the hammer throw at the RSC Championships. Natalie Brammer finished 17th, one spot higher than her 2025 finish, in the 5,000-meter racewalk.
PRIOR TO SHAWNEE STATE
In Flynn's first head coaching stint at Ohio Christian, he helped guide Ohio Christian to four NAIA National Championship appearances. OCU ultimately produced 24 All-River States Conference athletes, set 12 new school records and achieved the second-highest team placing in the history of the men's cross country program under his direction. Flynn also doubled the number of athletes on the men's and women's rosters within three semesters, succeeding in terms of drawing additional participation along with greater success inside the program as a whole.
At Kentucky Christian, Flynn served as an assistant coach and was the recruiting coordinator for the Kentucky Christian men's and women's cross country and track and field programs. While there, Flynn helped KCU obtain five NAIA All-American honors, including a NAIA National Runner-Up finish for Sierra Poppell. The Knights made eight national championship appearances, had seven athletes earn All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) honors, and broke 27 school records under Flynn's guidance and direction.
Prior to coaching, Flynn ran for the Shawnee State cross country and track and field programs -- helping the Bears claim Mid-South Conference Championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018. A multi-time Academic All-MSC selection during his time at Shawnee State, Flynn graduated with his bachelor's degree in sport studies, with a sport management concentration. While coaching at Kentucky Christian, Flynn earned two master's degrees, earning a master's of science in management andl leadership as well as his master's of business administration from Western Governors University.
