The men's and women's soccer programs at Shawnee State University were each honored by the United Soccer Coaches Association (USCA) with the College Team Academic Award, as announced by USCA officials.

The women's and men's programs both finished with cumulative team GPAs well above the 3.0 range, with the women's soccer program nabbing a cumulative mark of 3.51. Shawnee State was one of just 173 institutions nationwide to have both soccer programs recognized on the list at all levels of collegiate soccer, which include the NAIA, NCAA Divisions I, II and III, the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association), the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association), and the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association).
