The athletic department at Shawnee State will have seven different teams competing in athletic contests over the next week as the fall sports schedule heats up for many athletic programs across the country.
A full breakdown of all of the teams in action are below:
Shawnee State men's and women's tennis -- ITA-NAIAÂ Southeast Regional Tournament, Thursday, Sept. 25-Sunday, Sept. 28, Lackey Tennis Center, Georgetown, Ky.
Starting off the tear athletically, the men's and women's tennis programs will compete at the ITA-NAIA Southeast Regional Tournament, which will be held from Thursday, Sept. 25 to Sunday, Sept. 28 at the Lackey Tennis Center in Georgetown, Ky.
Overall, the men's and women's tennis programs have a total of 13 players on their rosters. Both the singles and doubles brackets are single-elimination.
Shawnee State men's and women's swimming -- at Dr. Dillery Fall Invitational, Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27, Doris and Bob Holloway Health and Wellness Center, Columbia, Ky.
In addition to the men's and women's tennis programs, the men's and women's swimming programs will also be competing Friday evening and Saturday morning as Shawnee State will compete in the two-day Dr. Dillery Fall Invitational, which is being hosted by Lindsey Wilson University.
A total of 25 swimmers are currently listed between the men's and women's swimming programs' rosters.. Shawnee State will be competing against Lindsey Wilson, Indiana Wesleyan, Campbellsville, Tennessee-Southern and West Virginia Tech in the event.
Between both programs, Shawnee State returns four swimmers that set an NAIA provisional cut during the 2024-25 season, including
Tony Goodwin and
Malik Nelson on the men's side as well as
Abigail Bosler and
De-Nicha Lewis on the women's side.
Josiah Ramdeen has also set a provisional time in past seasons for the Shawnee State men's swimming program as well.
Shawnee State volleyball (12-6, 2-1 River States Conference) at Indiana-East (9-12, 2-1 River States Conference), Friday, 6 p.m.; at Midway (1-10, 0-3 River States Conference), Saturday, 3 p.m.

Looking to solidify second place in the River States Conference East Division Standings, the Shawnee State volleyball program will look to pad that distance when the Bears face Indiana-East Friday evening at 6 p.m. and Midway Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. in a pair of RSC road contests.
Shawnee State, who is currently tied with Indiana-East for second place with a 2-1 overall mark in the RSC East Division Standings, holds the tiebreaker currently due to having a better overall record. The Bears can grab firm control of second place in the RSC East and put themselves in a position to host at least a home match in November's River States Conference Tournament.

Camille Hall (79) and
Natalie Reida (76) have also been heavy contributors on the frontline with the latter posting 76 kills despite playing in just over half of SSU's matches due to an early season injury. Lewis (325 assists) and Lovely (241 assists) currently lead Shawnee State in passing, while
Megan Steele (332),
Ava Jenkins (182),
Brooke Bossert (143) and Lewis (116) head up Shawnee State's efforts defensively.
Lewis presently has 1,625 career assists on her line from a setting standpoint -- just 375 away from 2,000 for her career.

The men's golf program at Shawnee State will participate in the two-day River States Conference Fall Preview, which will see each of the RSC's member schools that sponsor golf compete in the two-day, 36-hole preview tournament at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, W. Va.
Trey Cracraft,
Tanner Stevenson and
Ross Ferrell, who have been key pieces to Shawnee State's unit throughout their time as Bears, have continued to step up their games as Cracraft used a three-under 69 in the second round to post a three-under 141 and finish third in the Roger Merb Invitational, while Stevenson fired a four-under 68 in his own second round performance to rise into a tie for fourth place in the Roger Merb Invitational as both Cracraft and Stevenson earned Roger Merb Invitational All-Tournament Team honors.
Ferrell, meanwhile, continues to play consistently -- as the senior posted scores of 72 and 73 to finish one-over 145 for the tournament and claim an eighth place finish.

Shawnee State women's golf at UPike Fall Invitational, Monday, Sept. 29 and Tuesday, Sept. 30, Stonecrest Golf Course, Prestonsburg, Ky.
While the men's golf program competes in the southern portion of West Virginia to being the final days of September, the women's golf program at Shawnee State will compete in southeastern Kentucky as
Erika Martin's squad competes at the Pikeville Fall Invitational, which will take place Monday, Sept. 29 and Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg.
Cali Baird and
Aly Wellman led Shawnee State to begin the 2025 season at the Indiana-East Fall Invitational in Richmond, Ind., as the duo shot 88s (Baird) and 89s (Wellman) to post consistent scores.

Leading off a Saturday soccer doubleheader, the Shawnee State women's soccer program will be playing its River States Conference opener against Indiana-Columbus at 4 p.m. in Columbus, Ind.
Offensively, Shawnee State has been led by junior forward
Lucie Ashkettle (three goals, two assists), while fifth-year senior
Haynna Addy (three goals), junior
Annie Coriell (two goals) and redshirt junior
Robyn Drinkwater (four assists) have enjoyed strong offensive performances at different points in the 2025 season.
Defensively, the Bears are led by the backline of sophomore defenders
Jelena Krpan and
Isabelle Riddle as well as freshmanÂ
Abby Kennedy and juniors
Elizabeth Brown and
Ariane Davis, while fifth-year senior
Madison Culp has continued to be steady as a team stronghold in the middle of the field. Sophomore goalkeeper
Harlee Brand has made 49 saves in 2025.
Indiana-Columbus is led by six players who have scored at least two or more goals in 2025, but in its lone common opponent this season, Shawnee State played Georgetown to a tight 2-1 setback, while Indiana-Columbus fell to Georgetown, 3-0.

Capping off the weekend, the Shawnee State men's soccer program will look to get its conference slate off with a bang as the Bears will take on Indiana-Columbus in its River States Conference opener.
Shawnee State has had 11 different players score a goal, with six of those 11 players (
Alfie Maynard,
Marco Riva,
Sei Aitoku,
Nikos Pontikis, Belo Bitencourt and Theo Trinidade)Â posting at least one goal and one assist each this season.
From a defensive standpoint, the Bears have played outstanding soccer throughout the 2025 season, with Shawnee State's defense posting a 1.29 goals against average as a team. The defense has been led by a terrific effort by sophomore goalkeeper
Toby Forsythe, who took home his second River States Conference Defensive Player of the Week Award after making six stops and posting a 0.93 GAA between the posts.
Indiana-Columbus, a much-improved unit who is already just one win away from matching last season's total of four victories, is led by sophomore forward Christian Cardoso and senior midfielder Saulo Luna, who have each posted three goals apiece in 2025 with Luna adding in three assists to boot.
