SSU Athletics launches redesigned website, new mobile app

Shawnee State Athletics has launched a pair of new and revamped ways to access each of our sponsored sports across athletics, as SSU Athletics has launched a revamped look to the website and a brand new mobile app that can be accessed through a new partnership with SIDEARM Sports.

The revamped www.ssubears.com website, which officially launched July 8, aligns SSU with each of the 11 additional members that the Bears will be joining in the Mountain East Conference, where all programs now run on the SIDEARM platform. The refreshed site offers an improved user experience, cleaner design, and better access to news, schedules, stats, and team updates.

One of the larger additions to the website is an interactive display, which is now embedded into the website through an existing partnership that SIDEARM and  Rocket Alumni Solutions, the company that presently powers Shawnee State's interactive display, have. That can be viewed at https://ssubears.com/sports/2025/5/1/Hall-of-Fame-Hall-of-Fame.aspx.

As for the athletics app, the instructions to download are as follows:

To download, visit the App section of your phone, and type in Shawnee State Athletics. It should appear before the Chicago Bears Official App in the store!
  1. Click the "Let's Get Started!" button.
  2. The user will be prompted to accept push notifications.
  3. The user will be prompted to identify their fan segmentation. The segments you provided for user identification for push notifications are below (basically, select all that apply)
    1. Student
    2. Season Ticket Holder
    3. Supporter / Donor
    4. Faculty/Staff
    5. Alumni
    6. Fan
  4. The user will be prompted to favorite/follow any sports and select their push notification settings for those sports (if you want to follow every sport, MAKE SURE YOU SELECT EVERY SPORT. You also can follow the ones you want if you don't want to follow them, just make sure you select the proper ones.
  5. The user should now be on the home screen of the app.
  6. If the user would like to create an account, they can go to the bottom right of the app, click on More>Account & Settings>Log In.
