OXFORD, Ohio -- Behind a terrific week where Shawnee State senior lead guard
Miyoshi Ellis averaged 24.5 points, six rebounds, 4.5 assists, a steal and a block per game, the native of Harlem, N.Y. was able to obtain River States Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by River States Conference officials Monday afternoon.
Ellis was a dynamic playmaker and scorer through Shawnee State's road trip to Florida over Thanksgiving Weekend. Ellis put up 23 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block -- scoring 12 of her 23 points in a 27-6 second quarter swing by Shawnee State that led to SSU's 12-point win over Warner.Â
Ellis then followed that up with an even better performance against No. 23 Southeastern, scoring 20 of her career-high 26 points in the second half, shooting 61.1 percent from the field (11-18), posting five assists, four rebounds and a block and scoring on a game-winning layup with three seconds left to hand the Fire their first loss of the 2025-26 season. Southeastern entered the contest 8-0.Â
Ellis presently leads Shawnee State with averages of 15.7 points and 4.4 assists per game and is shooting 42.6 percent from the field for the 2025-26 campaign.
The weekly honor is the second of the season for Ellis -- and her first on the offensive end of the floor after previously earning RSC Defensive Player of the Week honors as well.
