GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The men's cross country program at Shawnee State continued receiving strong performances from both
Isaiah Lanoy and
Trevor Lanoy Saturday morning in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge, as the duo finished 23rd and 35th overall in a 204-runner field in the event, which was held at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Isaiah Lanoy, who continued his strong stretch of running Saturday, posted another sub-25 minute time in the eight-kilometer event, nabbing a 24:51.80 to place 23rd in the field.
Trevor Lanoy, meanwhile, proceeded to set a four-second personal best en route to his own strong showing, nabbing a 35th place finish with his new PB of 25:04.
"Isaiah and Trevor ran well," Shawnee State Director of Cross Country and Track and Field
Conner Flynn said. "I was happy with the way they competed in the top pack for much of the race. As a team, averaging our fastest team average on the year was a good step, and we look to build on that."
Behind the lead duo,
Eli Lengl,
Connor Darnell and
Kaiden Lanoy all finished inside the top half of the highly-regarded field, with the trio finishing just 5.1 seconds apart. Lengl posted an 87th place run by notching a 25:45.10 while Darnell added a 25:47.90 to place 92nd, just 2.8 seconds back of Lengl.
Kaiden Lanoy's 25:50.20 was another 2.3 seconds behind Darnell as the trio rounded out the scoring with their efforts in Saturday's race.
Jerry O'Dell (132nd, 26:04.70) and
Dakotah Sanders (193rd, 27:40.70) rounded out the performers on the men's side of the coin for the Bears.
The men's cross country program returns to action alongside the women's cross country program in two weeks time for the River States Conference Championship Meet, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 in Rio Grande, Ohio.
