PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Shawnee State women's soccer has announced its roster for the 2026 season. The team will feature 13 returners, two transfers and six freshmen.

Junior // Goalkeeper
Hawes returns for her third season in Portsmouth. After not seeing playing time as a freshman in 2024, Hawes appeared in three games and started one as a sophomore in 2025, allowing three goals while recording one save. She will enter the season as one of Shawnee State's two goalkeepers, alongside
Harlee Brand.

Junior // Goalkeeper
Brand is set to enter her third season at Shawnee State this fall. Brand started in goal for 16 of the Bears' 18 matches last season, allowing 27 goals (1.76/game) and posting 96 saves. Brand has stared in goal for 26, and appeared in 30, of Shawnee State's 34 matches since her freshman year in 2024. From her freshman to sophomore seasons, Brand improved her save percentage from .726 to .780 while lowering her goals-against average from 2.06 to 1.76.
#3 Lucie Ashkettle
Senior // Forward
As one of Shawnee State's three returning fourth-year players, Lucie Ashkettle will enter her senior season as one of the team's most experienced players. Over the past three seasons in Portsmouth, Ashkettle has recorded 13 career goals, seven assists for 33 points. Despite missing four matches due to injury as a junior last season, Ashkettle led Shawnee State in shots (45) and shots on goal (29), while tying for the team lead in goals (4) and points (11). Ashkettle has earned Third-Team All-River States Conference honors in each of her first three seasons.
#4 Laura Umana
Junior // Defender
Umana enters her first season at Shawnee State after spending her first two collegiate seasons at separate West Coast community colleges. As a freshman at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, Washington, Umana appeared in 16 of the Clippers' 17 matches, making five starts. She transferred to Whatcom Community College in her hometown of Bellingham, Washington, for her sophomore season, appearing in nine of the Orcas' 16 matches and recording one goal and two points.
#5 Leah Walters
Freshman // Midfielder
As a senior at Waverly High School, Walters appeared in seven of the Tigers' 14 games and scored two goals. Walters earned All-Southern Ohio Conference III (SOC III) honors at the end of the season.
#6 Whitney Dean
Junior // Forward
After appearing in eight matches and starting one as a freshman in 2024, Dean saw action in five matches last season. The junior has recorded four shots, including one on goal, while playing 429 minutes over her two seasons in Portsmouth.
#7 Jelena Krpan
Junior // Defender
After appearing in 12 matches as a freshman at Minnesota State Moorhead in 2024, Krpan started all 18 matches as a sophomore at Shawnee State last season. The Oakville, Ontario, native recorded her first collegiate goal in last season's 3-2 loss to Midway. Krpan led Shawnee State with 1,618 minutes played last season.
#8 Elizabeth Brown
Senior // Defender
Brown is set to enter her fourth season at Shawnee State this fall. Since arriving in Portsmouth, Brown has appeared in 50 of the Bears' 53 matches, including 33 starts in the team's 34 matches over the past two seasons. She recorded her first collegiate goal in last season's 4-0 win over IU Columbus.
#9 Isabelle Riddle
Junior // Defender
Riddle returns for her third season at Shawnee State. Over her first two seasons in Portsmouth, Riddle has started 32 of the Bears' 34 matches while logging 2,917 minutes. She earned All-River States Conference Second-Team honors in each of her first two seasons.
#11 Annie Coriell
Senior // Midfielder
Coriell, alongside Brown and Ashkettle, will return for her fourth year in Portsmouth this fall. In three seasons at Shawnee State, Coriell has recorded 10 goals and four assists. She finished tied for the team lead in goals last season alongside Ashkettle, Haynna Addy and Anna Sas.
#12 Emma Stamper
Freshman // Midfielder
As a senior at Russell High School last season, Stamper finished second on the team in goals (24) and points (63), while leading the Red Devils with 15 assists. Over her four-year high school career, Stamper recorded 90 goals on 128 shots (.703), along with 40 assists for 220 points. Russell posted a 50-24-5 record during Stamper's career.
#13 Maddie Miettinen
Freshman // Forward
Miettinen will enter her first collegiate season this fall at Shawnee State. As a senior at Thomas Worthington last year, she played in five of the Cardinals' 18 matches and recorded one goal and one assist.
#14 Madalynn Mueller
Freshman // Forward
Mueller appeared in all 19 matches as a senior at Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, recording four goals and two assists. Mueller finished her three-year varsity career at Oak Hills with 17 goals and seven assists for 41 points.
#15 Anna Sas
Sophomore // Midfielder
Sas finished in a four-way tie for the team lead with four goals as a freshman last season. Of the six freshmen on last year's squad, Sas is one of two returning to the team this season.
#16 Olivia Blankenship
Junior // Defender
Blankenship is set to enter her third season at Shawnee State this fall. She has appeared in four matches over her first two years in Portsmouth, including three last season.
#18 Genesis Guereca
Junior // Forward
Guereca made seven appearances in her first season at Shawnee State last year, recording four shots, including three on goal. As a freshman at Mohave College in 2024, Guereca appeared in 14 of 15 games, making 13 starts while recording one goal and two assists.
#20 Elsa Vega
Junior // Defender
Vega will enter her first season at Shawnee State this fall. The Gijón, Spain, native appeared in three matches as a sophomore at Oakland City in 2024 before redshirting as a junior in 2025.
#21 Sydney Wodzisz
Freshman // Midfielder
Wodzisz led Reynoldsburg in scoring as a senior last fall, earning All-Ohio Capital Conference (OCC) Buckeye Division First-Team honors. She also earned First-Team honors as a sophomore and was named to the Second Team as a freshman and junior.
#23 Abby Kennedy
Sophomore // Defender
Kennedy started in 17 of 18 games as a freshman at Shawnee State last season, logging 1,476 minutes, the third-most among returners this season. She, along with Anna Sas, is one of two returning freshmen from last year's squad.
#24 Sabina Morera Mas
Junior // Midfielder
Morera made one appearance in her first season at Shawnee State last fall. As a freshman at North Idaho College in 2024, Morea appeared in eight of the Cardinals' 18 matches.
#25 Meredith Dietrick
Freshman // Defender
Dietrick will enter her first season at Shawnee State this fall. She appeared in all 40 matches during her junior and senior seasons at Hillsboro High School, earning All-Frontier Athletic Conference (FAC) First-Team honors both years.
