MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Abbie Deeds has been named River States Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.

The selection comes after Deeds allowed one earned run over 23 1/3 innings last week while striking out 27 batters.

The freshman's 0.39 ERA on the week propelled her to a 3-0 record with wins over Kentucky Christian, West Virginia Tech and Rio Grande.

Deeds was also named RSC Softball Pitcher of the Week on Monday, March 9, following a week in which she struck out 18 batters across 16 innings of work.

Shawnee State softball returns to action Thursday, April 2, when it hosts Brescia for two games at Doc Singleton Park in West Portsmouth, Ohio, at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
