MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The River States Conference has named
Isaiah Lanoy as its Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week.
The honor comes after Lanoy ran a 9:00.72 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Raleigh Relays on Thursday, hitting the NAIA A standard and
breaking Shawnee State's men's 3,000-meter steeplechase record of 9:08.39.
The program's previous benchmark was set by Adrian Ross in 2017.
Lanoy's time is the 12th-fastest in NAIA history and ranks No. 1 in the NAIA. The junior is also ranked No. 1 nationally in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The honor is Lanoy's second straight, as
he ran a 9:17.16 at the Charlotte 49er Classic to earn the award last week.
Lanoy, alongside the Shawnee State men's outdoor track and field team, returns to action Friday, April 10, for Day 1 of the Lee University Fast Break Invitational at the Ray Conn Sports Complex in Cleveland, Tennessee.
