MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The River States Conference has named
Chayse Lipscomb its Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
The freshman ran 14.38 and 54.98 in the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdle events, placing second in both.
Lipscomb's time in the 110-meter hurdles broke his own Shawnee State record of 14.55, and qualified him for national competition by meeting the NAIA B standard.
He joins
Luke Rader and
Isaiah Lanoy as Shawnee State athletes who have hit NAIA standards this spring, with Rader hitting the B standard in the long jump and and Lanoy the A standard in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The Shawnee State men's outdoor track and field team returns to action Friday, May 1, for the first day of the River States Conference Championship Meet at the Stockmeister Track & Field Complex in Rio Grande, Ohio.
