Box Score 2 WEST PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Shawnee State (21-7, 14-4) has eclipsed the 20-win mark for the third consecutive season following its two-game sweep of Ohio Christian on Monday evening.
GAME 1
Shawnee State opened the scoring with four runs in the first inning, highlighted by an RBI fielder's choice from
Emily Moore and a bases-clearing three-RBI double by
Kennedy Davis.
The Bears scored four more in the fifth inning as
Jenna Christopher drove in a run with a fielder's choice,
Haley Myers hit an RBI single, and
Sierra Dunnagan drove in two with a single.
Shawnee State's lead triggered the eight-run rule, ending the game after 4 1/2 innings at 8-0.
Gabby McConnell earned the win, allowing no runs on one hit and one walk over four innings while striking out three.
Jenna Christopher and
Gabby Adams each finished 1-for-3, with Adams driving in a run.
Haley Myers,
Sierra Dunnagan,
Kennedy Davis and
Lexie Lockwood each batted 1-for-2. Davis drove in three, Dunnagan two and Myers one.
GAME 2
Similar to Game 1, Shawnee State scored four runs in the first inning of Game 2.
Sierra Dunnagan recorded an RBI ground out,
Gabby Adams and
Emily Moore hit RBI singles and
Keegan Uhl hit a sacrifice fly to right field.
The Bears scored five more in the second, highlighted by an RBI single by
Haley Myers, an RBI fielder's choice by
Gabby Adams and a three-run homer by
Emily Moore.
Gabby Adams held the Trailblazers scoreless in the top of the fifth, and Shawnee State completed the two-game sweep with a 9-0 run-rule win over Ohio Christian.
Madison Franz earned the win, allowing no runs on two hits and two walks over four innings while striking out one.
Haley Myers went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while
Emily Moore finished 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBI.
Jenna Christopher and
Keegan Uhl each batted 1-for-1, with Uhl driving in a run.
Gabby Adams went 1-for-2 with two RBI and
Sierra Dunnagan finished 0-for-1 with an RBI.
