MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The River States Conference has named Abbie Deeds its 2026 Softball Newcomer of the Year.

The freshman led the River States Conference in wins (19), strikeouts (139) and saves (3). She finished third in ERA at 2.53.

Deeds' 139 strikeouts are currently the fourth-most in a single season in Shawnee State softball history, and her 19 wins are tied for sixth.

She earned a 19-3 overall record, holding opposing batters to a .239 batting average and posting a 1.23 WHIP.

The Ironton, Ohio native was named River States Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week twice this season.
