Forsythe collects second consecutive River States Conference Defensive Player of the Week Award; third overall

OXFORD, Ohio -- Behind a seven-save effort from Toby Forsythe in goal in a 3-0 victory for the Shawnee State men's soccer program against Indiana-Columbus Saturday evening, the Gahanna, Ohio native was able to collect River States Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week and the third time overall in the 2025 season, as announced by River States Conference officials Monday afternoon.

In SSU's 3-0 win over IUC, Forsythe made four of his seven saves in the first half, including three of those between the 35th to 43rd minute, to collect his second clean sheet in 2025. Forsythe lowered his goals against average mark from 0.93 to 0.81 following the clean sheet, and is still on track to not only set, but obliterate the school record for GAA as the next-lowest mark is above 1.4.

For the 2025 season, Forsythe has made 35 saves and allowed just six goals en route to saving over 85 percent of the shots that the Central Ohio native has faced in the season to date.
