GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- Shawnee State sophomore and Minford native
Miranda Johnson acquitted herself well in the ITA-NAIA Southeast Regional Championship Singles Round of 32 Friday, as Johnson played competitive throughout and took two games from Cumberlands (Ky.)'s Mahiro Hara in a 6-1, 6-1 setback for Johnson in a match that was played at the Lackey Tennis Center in Georgetown, Ky.
Johnson, a consistently steady hand and vitally important figure with her work academically and athletically for the Shawnee State women's tennis program, took a game in each set from Hara, who went 12-5 in singles play and 15-7 in doubles action as a true freshman for Cumberlands during the 2024-25 season.

We're looking forward to continuing to improve over the remainder of the fall and look forward to having fans come out to our home matches over the next two Saturdays to begin the month of October.
The men's tennis program at Shawnee State will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 4 with a 12 p.m. match against NCAA Division II foe Thomas More, while the women's tennis program returns to play alongside the men Saturday, Oct. 11 when both programs play host to NCAA Division III Hanover (Ind.) at 2 p.m.
