GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Behind their own work in the classroom, Shawnee State women's tennis players Brooklyn Foose and McKenzie Harman were each named as College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District honorees, as announced by CSC national officials Tuesday afternoon.
Both players, who are making their second consecutive appearance on the CSC-NAIA Academic All-District list, continued to excel in the classroom to close out their women's tennis careers at Shawnee State. Foose, a multi-sport athlete who also bowled, finished with a 3.91 GPA in primary education and made the President's List in three out of her final four semesters on campus and obtained over 130 hours of academic credit, while Harman nabbed a 3.77 GPA in exercise science and finished with over 155 hours of academic credit obtained in her four years at SSU.
Harman was a No. 1 doubles player throughout the spring alongside fellow senior teammate Antonia Ilea, while Foose played alongside freshman tennis player Miranda Johnson at No. 2 doubles. Foose played at either No. 1 or No. 2 singles throughout the spring while Harman was consistently at the No. 3 singles position over the course of the spring semester. Harman was ultimately named as a Third-Team All-RSC honoree.
To be eligible for College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, a player must be of sophomore or older academic and athletic eligibility, carry at least a 3.5 GPA or above in the classroom, and be in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's days of competition. Regional competitions, such as ITAs and non-team scored events, do not count.
