Luke Rader Marshall Opener

Men's Indoor Track and Field

Rader wins long jump; Hesler (800 meters), Adkins (high jump), Lanoy (5,000 meter run) earn top-three finishes for SSU men's track and field

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- The standout track and field trio of Luke Rader, Cody Hesler, Eli Adkins and Isaiah Lanoy each picked up right where they left off in Saturday's Marshall Opener -- as Rader won the 15-individual long jump event while Hesler placed second in the 800 meter run and Adkins and Lanoy each placed third in the high jump and the 5,000 meter run, respectively, with their finishes.

Rader, who cleared 23 feet, two-and-three-quarters inches, beat out five NCAA Division I and four NCAA Division II competitors in the field. He came within two one-hundredths of a meter of hitting a NAIA National 'B' Standard jump in the event.

Hesler, who ran a 2:00.26 in the 800 meters, set a personal best time in the event and finished just under a second back from the winning time in the event. Hesler also sits underneath eight seconds back of a NAIA National 'B' Standard time in the event.
