HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- The standout track and field trio of
Luke Rader,
Cody Hesler,
Eli Adkins and
Isaiah Lanoy each picked up right where they left off in Saturday's Marshall Opener -- as Rader won the 15-individual long jump event while Hesler placed second in the 800 meter run and Adkins and Lanoy each placed third in the high jump and the 5,000 meter run, respectively, with their finishes.
Rader, who cleared 23 feet, two-and-three-quarters inches, beat out five NCAA Division I and four NCAA Division II competitors in the field. He came within two one-hundredths of a meter of hitting a NAIA National 'B' Standard jump in the event.
Hesler, who ran a 2:00.26 in the 800 meters, set a personal best time in the event and finished just under a second back from the winning time in the event. Hesler also sits underneath eight seconds back of a NAIA National 'B' Standard time in the event.
Adkins, who cleared six feet, six-and-three-quarters inches, also bested five NCAA Division I high jumpers and three NCAA Division II competitors in his field. Adkins came within three one-hundredths of a meter of hitting a NAIA National 'B' Standard jump in his first event of the year as well.
Isaiah Lanoy, who finished third in the 5,000 meter run, set a personal best time with his effort -- running a 14:51.57 to lead the 5,000 meter run efforts. Lanoy finished third in a field of 29 competitors Saturday evening.
Along with
Isaiah Lanoy, fellow brother
Trevor Lanoy also ran a personal best in the 5,000 -- posting a 15:02.83 to begin the season -- and finished sixth out of 29 runners. Isaiah and
Trevor Lanoy sit just six and 17 seconds back of a NAIA National 'B' Standard time in the event with more than two months left of meets to go through.
