The men's and women's cross country programs at Shawnee State had six individuals named as NAIA Scholar-Athletes Wednesday afternoon -- as
Jessica Elick,
Juniper Allen,
Kirsten Evans,
Malachi Shugert,
Natalie Brammer and
Walker Pannell were all named to the list of nationally recognized honorees across all fall sports by national officials.
Evans, who continues to hold a perfect 4.0 GPA in exercise science, leads the charge -- as the senior has earned over 100 hours of credit in the field. Elick, meanwhile, has accumulated a 3.96 GPA with over 95 hours of academic credit.
Behind the lead duo on the women's cross country side, two men's cross country athletes followed suit -- as Shugert, who is next in line with a 3.86 GPA, has obtained over 20 hours of academic credit as a master's of business administration major while Pannell, who holds a 3.71 GPA, has passed over 100 hours of academic credit as a political science major.
Last but not least, Brammer and Allen also made the list -- with Brammer notching a 3.61 GPA as an intervention specialist and passing over 110 hours of academic credit and Allen nabbing a 3.56 GPA in occupational therapy while passing over 85 hours of academic credit.
