COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The men's bowling program got another great showing from Shawnee State junior bowler
Blake Landers -- as the Lawrence County native's three-game 208.3 average allowed the junior to finish 32nd out of 213 bowlers and gave the Shawnee State varsity men's bowling squad an 11th place finish Saturday in the second Ohio Bowling Conference event of the 2025-26 season, which was held in Columbus.
Landers, who bowled a three-game 625 en route to his 208.3 average, continued building on his strong 2025-26 campaign by rolling a 200, a 235 and a 190 from the first through third games of his series. Landers was one of 45 bowlers in the field of 213 to post an average above 200.
Fellow Shawnee State junior and Lawrence County native Andy Schoener added to the efforts as Schoener dropped a 214 in Game 2 to close with a three-game 588, averaging 186 pins per rack in the process to finish in 74th place.
Brayden Anderson, who dropped in a 229-pin effort in the second of his three-game series, finished 94th with 529 pins while
Robert Surritt and
Frank Bullins finished 106th and 107th, notching 515 and 512 pins with Surritt dropping 192 pins in Game 2 and Bullins collecting a 194-pin mark in Game 3.
Bowling two games on Saturday, Shawnee State junior
Zach Ison put together the second-best two-game performance of the event, dropping in 227 and 246 pins in Games 2 and 3 to finish with a two-game 473 and a terrific 236.5 pin average -- finishing 122nd.
Logan Hughes, who also bowled a two-game series, put together a 188 average to finish in 153rd place -- nabbing a 216-pin count in Game 2.

Jaylen Sumler (189th),
Jakob Pelfrey (204th) and
Graham Copley (206th) rounded out the field of bowlers for the Bears.
