BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- The Mid-South Conference has selected
Jaylen Sumler as its Men's Bowler of the Week.
Sumler, from Goldsboro, N.C., knocked down 615 total pins (205 average) en route to an individual fifth-place finish at the Greater Pittsburgh Collegiate Classic in North Versailles Township, Pennsylvania, over the weekend. Sumler's 246 score in game two was the second-highest among the event's top-10 finishers.
The junior's efforts also led Shawnee State's men's bowling team to a second-place finish in the 15-team field.
Sumler joins
Blake Landers as the only Shawnee State men's bowlers to earn Mid-South Conference Bowler of the Week honors this season.
Shawnee State's men's bowling team returns to action Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Ohio Bowling Conference Event No. 3 at Columbus Bowling Palace in Columbus, Ohio.
