WILMINGTON, Ohio -- The men's cross country program at Shawnee State, led by three top-25 efforts from
Eli Lengl,
Kaiden Lanoy and
Jerry O'Dell, collected a fifth-place finish out of the 21 teams that officially recorded scores at the annual #JennaStrong Fall Classic, which was held Friday evening on the Wilmington College campus in Wilmington, Ohio.
Lengl and Lanoy, who posted times of 26:10.7 and 26:13.1 respectively, finished 11th and 12th overall in the 251-runner field while O'Dell added in a 26:34.6 to claim 22nd in the race. Lengl and Lanoy were the fastest and second-fastest River States Conference runners in the event while O'Dell was the fifth-fastest RSC competitors in Friday's race. Lengl and Lanoy were also the fifth and sixth fastest NAIA runners in the field.
Behind the main trio, Shawnee State true freshman
Dakotah Sanders posted his personal best collegiate time so far as Sanders ran a 27:32.2 to set a personal best of over 45 seconds in the race itself, finishing 61st overall to finish as a scoring runner.
Walker Pannell's 28:21.4 (104th) edged
Rowen Lloyd's 28:39.5 (116th) for the final main scoring slot in the lineup.
Jared Flowers (195th, 31:28.6) rounded out the performers for Shawnee State.Â

The men's cross country program at Shawnee State will be back in action alongside the women's cross country program in the Bears' final meet of the regular season -- the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge, which is being held at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Saturday, Oct. 25.
