BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. -- Shawnee State (2-3-2, 1-1-1) drew with Salem, 1-1, Wednesday afternoon at The Bridge Sports Complex.
Yuri Neeve opened the scoring for Shawnee State, netting his second goal of the season off an assist from
Rickai Malianga-Torrence to give the Bears a 1-0 lead.
Floyd Watts recorded a four-save shutout through the first 45 minutes, allowing Shawnee State to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Bears maintained their lead throughout the second half, with Watts making four more saves before Salem's Arokya Shrestha scored in the 88' to tie the match, 1-1.
Cameron Thompson put a shot on goal in the 89', but Tigers goalkeeper Gregory Lynch made the save to preserve the 1-1 final.
Bears by the Numbers
Yuri Neeve scored his second goal of the season, and is tied for the second most on the team.
Rickai Malianga-Torrence recorded his first assist of the season on Neeve's goal.
Floyd Watts posted a season-high eight saves while allowing one goal. The junior has allowed two or fewer goals in each of his three 90-minute starts. Watts ranks second in the Mountain East Conference with 29 saves on the season.
