PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Shawnee State volleyball has announced its roster for the 2026 season. The team will feature eight returners, three transfers and seven freshmen.
#1 Mylee Gleim
Freshman // Defensive Specialist
Gleim, a Scioto County native, is a 2026 graduate of Wheelersburg High School. In three varsity seasons at Wheelersburg, Gleim totaled 1,147 digs, leading the Pirates each year with 317, 416 and 414 digs, respectively. Gleim helped the Pirates capture three consecutive district titles from 2023-25, including back-to-back regional final appearances in 2023 and 2024 and a regional semifinal appearance in 2025.
#3 Saige Abbott
Sophomore // Defensive Specialist
Abbott is also from Coshocton, Ohio, and will reunite with
Jalynn West, who she was teammates with at Coshocton High School from 2022-23. In her four-year career at Coshocton, Abbott totaled 264 kills, 107 aces and 600 digs. As a freshman at Davis & Elkins, Abbott appeared in 68 sets across 25 matches and recorded 50 kills, 10 aces and 141 digs.
#4Â Graci Claxon
Senior // Defensive Specialist
Claxon, another Scioto County native, graduated from South Webster High School in 2022. She led the Jeeps in digs from 2019-21 with 368, 327 and 349, respectfully. Along with her 1,071 career digs, Claxon also recorded 102 aces, with 40 as a senior. Claxon helped the Jeeps compile an 83-18 overall record and a 52-9 mark within the Southern Ohio Conference II during her four seasons with the program. In three seasons at Mount Vernon Nazarene, Claxon compiled 224 digs (193 as a junior) and 11 aces.
#5Â Camille Hall
Junior // Middle Hitter/Middle Blocker
Hall returns for her third year in Portsmouth. The South Point, Ohio, native appeared in 18 matches as a freshman and 21 as a sophomore, totaling 47 and 117 kills, respectively. Her kills-per-set average improved from 1.24 in 2024 to 1.92 in 2025.
#7 Whytney Faulkner
Junior // Outside Hitter
Faulkner is set to compete in her third season at Shawnee State this fall. Over her previous two seasons, the junior has totaled 422 kills, including a team-high 242 in 2025. Her 180 kills in 2024 ranked third on the team. Faulkner enters the 2026 season with the most career kills among Shawnee State's volleyball roster.
#8Â Camille McIntosh
Junior // Middle Hitter/Middle Blocker
McIntosh will look to build on a strong sophomore campaign last season, which saw her compile 186 kills and 80 total blocks across 29 matches and earn a spot on the All-River States Conference Second Team. McIntosh is one of two returning Shawnee State players who earned all-conference honors last season.
#10 Hallie Oyer
Sophomore // Outside Hitter/Opposite Hitter
Oyer saw limited playing time as a freshman last season, appearing in 17 of Shawnee State's 33 matches. The sophomore nearly missed the entire month of October, appearing in just two of the Bears' 11 matches from Oct. 3 to Nov. 7. Oyer collected 41 kills across 35 sets (1.17 per set).
#11 Bree Hicks
Sophomore // Outside Hitter
Hicks will look to build off a strong freshman campaign last season, which saw her record 227 kills (2.18 per set) across 30 matches. She finished third on the team in kills, behind
Whytney Faulkner and
Katelynn Boerger, however led the Bears with 2.18 kills per set.
#12Â Addy Brewster
Freshman // Outside Hitter/Setter
Brewster attended Western High School in Latham, Ohio, and graduated in 2026. The former Indian racked up 1,081 kills in four years at Western, including 697 over her final two years, when she averaged four kills per set. She also tallied 1,230 career assists. Brewster was named Southern Ohio Conference II Co-Player of the Year in 2025.
#13Â Cally Carpenter
Sophomore // Setter
Carpenter totaled 327 assists as a freshman last season, ranking third on the team behind
Makaela Lovely (475) and
Reagan Lewis (375). However, Carpenter's 4.88 assists-per-set average led the team. Her highest single-game assist total came on Nov. 7Â against IU East when she dished out 29Â assists. She recorded 20 or more assists in nine of her 23 matches.
#14Â Jalynn West
Junior // Setter
West, from Coshocton, Ohio, was a four-time all-conference selection and two-time All-Ohio honoree at Coshocton High School. West totaled 2,888 assists during her four-year varsity career, highlighted by a career-best 857 assists as a senior in 2022. She also added 173 kills, 184 blocks (159 in final two seasons), 757 digs and 173 aces. West spent her first three collegiate seasons at Slippery Rock (2023), West Virginia Wesleyan (2024) and Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2025). As a freshman at Slippery Rock, West appeared in 41 sets across 18 matches and recorded 165 assists. West broke out as a sophomore at West Virginia Wesleyan, appearing in 27 of the Bobcats' 30 matches while compiling 844 assists. West appeared in just three matches for IUP in 2025, totaling 16 assists across seven sets. The junior sits at 1,025 assists in her collegiate career.
#17 Anyssa Cutlip
Freshman // Opposite Hitter
Cutlip graduated from Ridgewood High School in West Lafayette, Ohio in 2026. As a senior, Cutlip led the Generals with 257 kills (3.4 per set), 41 solo blocks and 265 digs. Despite playing just six more sets as a senior than as a junior, Cutlip totaled 110 more kills (257-147) and increased her kills-per-set average by 1.3 (3.4-2.1).
#18Â Kaylee McInnis
Freshman // Outside Hitter
As a senior at St. Charles East High School during the 2025 season, McInnis led the Fighting Saints with 340 kills (4.1 per set), 38 aces and 229 digs. McInnis was named to the 2025 DuKane Conference First Team.
#20 Mallory Hicks
Freshman // Outside Hitter/Middle Hitter
Hicks is a 2026 graduate of West Carter High School in Olive Hill, Kentucky, where she recorded over 1,000 career kills. Hicks also played club volleyball with the Mountain Monsters Volleyball Club (MMVC 18).
#21 Bailey Colestock
Freshman // Defensive Specialist
Colestock is a 2026 graduate of London High School in London, Ohio. Colestock will also be joining the Shawnee State cross county and track and field teams.
#22 Carley Brewster
Freshman // Defensive Specialist
Brewster is a 2026 graduate of Cabell Midland High School in Ona, West Virginia. As a senior, Brewster recorded a team-high 561 digs (10.2 per match) to help guide the Knights to a 45-6-1 record in 2025. Brewster also collected 41 aces and 40 assists.
#24 Natalie Reida
Sophomore // Middle Hitter/Middle Blocker
Reida put together a strong freshman campaign last season, ranking fifth on the team in kills (175) and third in total blocks (58). She was one of four Shawnee State players last season to average over two kills per set.
#25 Katelynn Boerger
Sophomore //Â Opposite Hitter
Boerger bust onto the scene as a freshman last season. The Seamen, Ohio native co-led the Bears with 242 kills and ranked third with 2.05 kills per set. Boerger's 70 total blocks were the second-most on the team. Boerger was named to the All-River States Conference Third Team.
