MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The River States Conference has named
Amanda Salmons its Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
The selection come after the Wheelersburg, Ohio, native claimed a pair of second place finishes at the Concord Open on Friday.
The junior placed second in the 800-meter (2:28.50) and 1,500-meter (5:14.76) events, with the 800 meters marking a personal best.
Salmons is the first Shawnee State women's track and field athlete to win a conference Athlete of the Week award this spring.
The Shawnee State women's outdoor track and field team returns to action Friday, April 17, at the Otterbein Invitational at Memorial Stadium in Westerville, Ohio. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
