SSU Softball Splits Monday Doubleheader with Bryan College

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DAYTON, Tenn. -- Shawnee State (3-3, 0-0) split its third series of the season Monday, winning one game and dropping the other against Bryan College.

GAME ONE

Sierra Dunnagan got Shawnee State on the board in the top of the first with an RBI double that scored Jenna Christopher.

The Bears added two more runs in the inning on an RBI single by Gabby Adams and a sacrifice fly from Emily Moore.

Haley Myers ripped an RBI single in the second inning, and Emily Moore hit her second sac fly of the game in the third to extend Shawnee State's lead to 5-0.

The Lions scored three runs over the third and fourth innings, cutting the Bears' lead to 5-3.

Shawnee State answered the next half inning with three runs in the fifth, highlighted by an RBI double from Gabby Adams, a third sacrifice fly by Emily Moore and an RBI fielder's choice from Keegan Uhl.

The Bears scored three more runs over the sixth and seventh innings on an RBI double from Sydney Skiver and RBI singles by Kennedy Davis and Haley Myers, pushing Shawnee State's lead to 11-3.

Laci Delauder held the Lions scoreless in the seventh inning to secure the Bears' third win of the season.

Abbie Deeds earned the win, allowing three runs on five hits over four innings while striking out one and walking four.

Sierra Dunnagan co-led all batters with three hits, including two doubles and an RBI.

Gabby Adams also finiehsed with three hits, posting a double and two RBI.

Jenna Christopher and Sydney Skiver each went 2-for-3, with Skiver recording a double and RBI.

Haley Myers and Lexie Lockwood each finished 2-for-4, with Myers driving in two runs.

Keegan Uhl went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Emily Moore didn't record an at-bat in four plate appearances, but recorded three RBI.

GAME TWO

Shawnee State was held scoreless in game two on Monday, falling to the Lions 10-0.

The Bears recorded four hits as Haley Myers, Gabby Adams and Keegan Uhl each went 1-for-2, while Emily Moore finished 1-for-3.

Madison Franz took the loss, allowing six runs on 10 hits over three innings while striking out one batter.

Shawnee State returns to action Friday, March 6, for two games at the Koetter Sports Softball Complex in New Albany, Indiana, facing IU Southeast at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
