Box Score 2 GRAYSON, Ky. -- Shawnee State (17-5, 12-2) extended its winning streak to five games with a two-game sweep of Kentucky Christian on Tuesday. The Bears remain tied for first in the River States Conference standings with Oakland City.
GAME ONE
Sydney Skiver opened the series' scoring with an RBI single to left field in the first inning, giving the Bears a 1-0 lead.
The Bears scored four runs in the fourth, highlighted by an RBI single from
Jenna Christopher, a two-RBI triple from
Sierra Dunnagan and a sacrifice fly by
Gabby Adams.
In the sixth, Shawnee State extended its lead to 10-0 as
Sydney Skiver recorded an RBI single,
Emily Moore drove in two on a double to left and
Mackensie Bailey doubled to drive in a run and later scored on a defensive error.
Laci Delauder held the Knights scoreless in the bottom of the inning to secure the Bears' 10-0 victory.
Abbie Deeds was credited with the win, allowing no runs on two hits over five innings while striking out eight.
Sydney Skiver went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
Emily Moore and
Kennedy Davis each finished 2-for-4, with Moore recording two RBI.
Haley Myers,
Keegan Uhl,
Jenna Christopher and
Sierra Dunnagan each went 1-for-3. Dunnagan drove in two runs while Christopher brought in one.
Gabby Adams went 1-for-2 with an RBI, while
Mackensie Bailey recorded an RBI double in her lone plate appearance.
Hailee Bay went 0-for-1 with an RBI.
GAME TWO
Both teams were scoreless through the first two innings of Game 2 before combining for 13 runs in the third and fourth innings.
Shawnee State opened the scoring barrage with four runs in the third inning, as
Sierra Dunnagan and
Gabby Adams each had RBI singles and
Sydney Skiver drove in two more on a double to left field.
The Bears added six more in the fourth.
Kennedy Davis scored on a fielder's choice,
Haley Myers had an RBI double and later scored on a defensive error,
Sydney Skiver drove in two on a double to center field, and
Emily Moore hit an RBI single to left.
Kentucky Christian scored three runs in the fourth and one in the fifth, cutting the Bears' lead to 10-4 after five innings.
Sierra Dunnagan hit her sixth home run of the season in the sixth inning to extend Shawnee State's lead to 11-4.
The Bears pushed their lead to 16-4 in the seventh, as
Sierra Dunnagan recorded a two-RBI single,
Mackensie Bailey scored on a defensive error and
Gabby Adams drove in two runs on her fifth home run of the year.
Madison Franz tossed a scoreless seventh inning to secure Shawnee State's series sweep of Kentucky Christian.
Gabby McConnell earned the win, alowing three runs on five hits and four walks over 3 2/3 innings while striking out five.
Sierra Dunnagan and
Gabby Adams each went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI.
Jenna Christopher and
Sydney Skiver each finished 2-for-3, with Skiver recording two doubles and four RBI.
Haley Myers batted 2-for-4 with an RBI double, while
Emily Moore finished 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Hailee Bay and
Haley Hawes each went 1-for-1.
