Box Score 2 SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. -- Shawnee State (15-5, 10-2) earned a pair of wins Saturday afternoon, sweeping a doubleheader from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
GAME 1
The Bears took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Kennedy Davis hit an RBI double and Jenna Christopher reached on a fielder's choice that drove in a run.
Shawnee State scored five more runs in the third, highlighted by RBI singles from Kennedy Davis and Keegan Uhl, Davis and Emily Moore scoring on defensive errors and Haley Myers hitting a sacrifice fly to left field.
The Bears would score again in the fourth, as Emily Moore singled to score Gabby Adams.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods scored its only run in the bottom of the inning, as Hannah Boardman homered to cut Shawnee State's lead to 8-1.
Abbie Deeds held the Pomeroys scoreless for the remainder of the game to secure the Bears' 14th win of the season.
Deeds earned the win, allowing one earned run on four hits over seven innings while striking out two.
Lexie Lockwood finished 3-for-3, while Sydney Skiver, Emily Moore and Kennedy Davis each went 2-for-3. Davis had two RBI and Moore recorded one.
Keegan Uhl went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Jenna Christopher and Sierra Dunnagan each batted 1-for-4 with Christopher driving in two.
Gabby Adams finished 1-for-3.
GAME 2
Sierra Dunnagan got things going for the Bears in the first inning, hitting an RBI single and later stealing home to give Shawnee State a 2-0 lead.
The Pomeroys answered with a run in the second inning before Shawnee State scored four in the third.
Haley Myers doubled to score Jenna Christopher, then later scored on a defensive error.
Kennedy Davis recorded a two-RBI double, giving the Bears a 6-1 advantage.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods scored twice in the sixth, but it wasn't enough as Shawnee State held on for the 6-3 win to sweep the doubleheader.
Gabby McConnell earned the win, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings while striking out five.
Laci Delauder recorded the save in the seventh, holding the Pomeroys scoreless on one hit.
Keegan Uhl finished 3-for-4, while Gabby Adams went 2-for-3 with a double.
Kennedy Davis batted 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
Jenna Christopher and Haley Myers each batted 1-for-3, with Myers recording an RBI double.
Sierra Dunnagan finished 1-for-4 with an RBI.
