Box Score 2 CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Shawnee State (1-1, 0-0) opened its 2026 season on Saturday, splitting a doubleheader with Campbellsville.
GAME ONE
Shawnee State opened the scoring in game one with four runs in the top of the second inning.
Keegan Uhl drove in two runs with a double to right field before scoring on
Kennedy Davis' RBI double. Davis later came home on a
Jenna Christopher sacrifice fly.
Campbellsville added runs in the bottom of the second and third innings, but still trailed Shawnee State 4-2 after three.
Shawnee State plated four runs in the fourth, highlighted by
Kennedy Davis' RBI triple to left, RBI doubles from
Haley Myers and
Sierra Dunnagan and an RBI single from
Gabby Adams.
The Tigers answered in the bottom of the inning as Leslie Jones hit a two-run homer over the left-field fence, cutting Shawnee State's lead to 8-4.
In the top of the sixth,
Sierra Dunnagan homered to left field to extend Shawnee State's lead to 9-4.
Campbellsville rallied in the bottom of the sixth, scoring five runs to tie the game at 9-9 entering the seventh inning.
Sydney Skiver led off the top of the seventh with a solo home run to give Shawnee State a 10-9 lead.
The Bears added three more runs in the inning, with sacrifice flies from
Kennedy Davis and
Haley Myers and an RBI single from
Jenna Christopher to lead the Tigers 13-9.
In the bottom of the seventh,
Gabby McConnell held Campbellsville scoreless to secure the 13-9 win.
McConnell earned the win, tossing 1 1/3 hitless innings while allowing one walk and striking out one.
Sierra Dunnagan led all batters with four hits in five plate appearances, including a double and a home run, while driving in two runs.
Haley Myers went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while
Sydney Skiver finished 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
Emily Moore and
Kennedy Davis each went 2-for-3, with both hitting doubles, while Davis also added a triple and three RBI.
Jenna Christopher and
Gabby Adams both finished 1-for-4, with Christopher driving in two runs and Adams adding one RBI.
Lexie Lockwood and
Keegan Uhl each batted 1-for-3, while Uhl knocked in two RBI.
GAME TWO
Similar to game one, Shawnee State started the scoring in game two as
Sierra Dunnagan laced an RBI single to centerfield to give the Bears a 1-0 advantage.
In the bottom half of the inning, Campbellsville scored four runs to take a 4-1 lead over the Bears.
The Tigers extended their lead in the third and fourth innings, scoring one run and two runs, respectively.
In the fifth, Shawnee State cut into Campbellsville's lead as
Sierra Dunnagan doubled to left, scoring two runs to make it 7-3.
The Tigers delivered the final blow in the bottom of the sixth, scoring five runs to trigger the eight-run run rule after four innings to secure the 12-3 win over Shawnee State.
Gabby McConnell was credited with the loss, allowing seven runs and eight hits and four walks over three innings.
Sierra Dunnagan went 2-for-2 with a double, walk and three RBI.
Jenna Christopher finished 2-for-4, while
Emily Moore batted 2-for-3 with a double.
Haley Myers,
Lexie Lockwood and
Morgan Christopher each went 1-for-3, with Myers logging a double.
