OXFORD, Ohio -- The River States Conference has selected Tyreon Payne as its Defensive Player of the Week.

Payne's selection marks the second time this season he has earned the weekly honor, after the senior was named conference defensive player of the week on Nov. 3.

It also marks the third time Payne has received a weekly conference honor, after he was named offensive player of the week on Jan. 27.

To earn this week's selection, Payne averaged four steals per game in two conference wins, including six in the Bears' 95-79 victory over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods on Saturday.

Shawnee State MBB returns to action Tuesday, Feb. 17, when it travels to Grayson, Kentucky to face Kentucky Christian at Ron Arnett Court. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
