BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- The Mid-South Conference has selected sophomore
Onesti Evans as its Women's Bowler of the Week.
The Washington Court House native earned the honor after claiming first place individually at the Greater Pittsburgh Collegiate Classic over the weekend, knocking down a total of 595 pins en route to a 198.33 three-game average to lead a field of 80 athletes.
Evans' efforts also led to Shawnee State's women's bowling team winning the event with a total of 4,927 pins, edging out the nation's No. 3-ranked team, St. Vincent College, which finished with 4,919 pins.
Evans joins fellow sophomore Maria Mara as the only Shawnee State women's bowlers to earn Mid-South Conference Bowler of the Week honors this season.
Shawnee State's women's bowling team returns to action Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Ohio Bowling Conference Event No. 3 at Columbus Bowling Palace in Columbus, Ohio.
