No. 6 SSU MSOC to face No. 3 Oakland City in River States Conference Quarters

The men's soccer program at Shawnee State will look to not only wipe the slate clean as it begins its 2025 postseason journey, but score a big win -- and set up a rematch with RSC foe Rio Grande as the Bears take on Oakland City in the River States Conference Quarterfinals, which will begin at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT.

Shawnee State has had a total of 13 players score a goal and 10 different players post at least a goal and a assist in what has been a balanced offensive attack in 2025. Five players have posted at least three goals while four players have notched three or more assists during the season.

Defensively, Shawnee State holds a 1.56 GAA as a group -- but starting goalkeeper Toby Forsythe holds a mark lower than that, having nabbed a 1.43 GAA for the season.

On the opposite side, Ross O'Brien, Samuel Pilgrim and Yaw Frimpong have combined for 20 goals this season to lead Oakland City. O'Brien has accumulated eight goals and two assists while Pilgrim and Frimpong have tallied six goals apiece with Frimpong's five assists leading the Mighty Oaks. In goal, Jacob Robinson, Oakland City's primary keeper, has made 28 saves but has also allowed 22 goals.

With a victory Wednesday evening, Shawnee State would keep its postseason hopes alive and would get the opportunity to play at Rio Grande Saturday afternoon at a time to be determined in the River States Conference Semifinals.
