The men's soccer program at Shawnee State put four of its players on the NAIA Scholar-Athlete list -- as Belo Bitencourt,
Alfie Maynard,
Cameron Thompson and Theo Trindade were each named to the list as a result of passing at least 30 credit hours and maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above, as announced by the national officials Wednesday.
In addition to those four individuals, Joao Coqueti Leo also posted a GPA above 3.5 and exceeded the 30-hour credit minimum following the Sept. 30 deadline -- giving the Shawnee State men's soccer program five players who have officially hit the 3.5 GPA mark.
Thompson, who led the way with a 3.91 GPA, has accumulated 60 hours of academic credit as an information security major, while Coqueti Leo (3.82), Trindade (3.8) and Maynard (3.7) all hold rock solid GPAs themselves. Coqueti Leo and Trindade, who each have around 35 hours of academic credit on their line, are information systems management and information security majors while Maynard, who has earned 95 hours of academic credit, is a sport management major.
Bitencourt, who rounds out the list with a 3.55, has obtained 95 hours of academic credit himself and is a plastics engineering technology major.
