In addition to the men's and women's basketball programs at Shawnee State, the men's and women's soccer, volleyball and men's and women's swimming programs will all be in action over the course of the week as the soccer programs and volleyball roster look to finish their regular seasons out on a high note while the men's and women's swimming programs look to continue their progression in a big time meet against Indiana Wesleyan.
A full rundown of events this weekend are below:
Shawnee State women's soccer at Midway (Ky.), Thursday, Oct. 30, 5 p.m. and Indiana-Kokomo, Saturday, Nov. 1, 5Â p.m.
Â
The women's soccer program at Shawnee State begins the action Thursday evening and will finish off the 2025 season Saturday evening as the Bears will play Midway (Ky.) and Indiana-Kokomo in two road contests that will be held at 5 p.m. in Midway, Ky. and Kokomo, Ind.
While the Bears will lose fifth-year seniors
Madison Culp,
Haynna Addy,
Kya Edwards and
Avery Williams and could lose
Lucia Arbide and
Robyn Drinkwater, Shawnee State will bring back at least four of its top five scoring players to the 2026 version of the roster, including
Lucie Ashkettle,
Annie Coriell,
Anna Sas and
Lexi Conkel -- while sophomore goalkeeper
Harlee Brand and each of Shawnee State's five main backline defenders --
Abby Kennedy,
Isabelle Riddle,
Jelena Krpan,
Elizabeth Brown and reserve talent
Ariane Davis -- all return as well.
Drinkwater and Arbide are seniors academically and will graduate this year, but have another year left to play if they so choose and have the option to return.
Â
Shawnee State men's soccer at Midway (Ky.), Thursday, Oct. 30, 7:30 p.m.
Â
The men's soccer program at Shawnee State (7-7-4, 3-3-2 River States Conference) follow the women's soccer program's efforts up on Thursday evening with its final contest of the regular season -- a nightcapping contest against Midway (5-9-2, 2-4-1 RSC).
- Shawnee State is No. 5 seed as it stands right now.
- Win over Midway clinches postseason berth and no worse than No. 5 seed. Win over Midway and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods losses to Brescia and West Virginia Tech, or a tie and a loss over SMWC's last two matches, give Shawnee State the No. 4 seed, where SSU would likely host Saint Mary-of-the-Woods on Nov. 5 at Shawnee Turf.
13 different players have scored a goal for the Bears heading into Shawnee State's final match of the regular season in what has been a balanced offensive attack.
Toby Forsythe, who holds a 1.24 goals against average in 2025, is still on track to break the program record for single season GAA.

Shawnee State volleyball at West Virginia Tech, Friday, Oct. 31, 7 p.m., Beckley, W. Va.; Shawnee State volleyball at Rio Grande Tri-Match (Rio Grande, 1 p.m., Cincinnati-Clermont, 4 p.m.)
With the potential to earn its first 20-win season in 13 years and stay alive in the race to claim the River States Conference East Division Championship, the volleyball program at Shawnee State will look to continue displaying the competitiveness that it has all season long Friday and Saturday when the Bears take on West Virginia Tech in a River States Conference match at 7 p.m. Friday evening, followed by a Saturday afternoon tri-match at Rio Grande (1 p.m.) and Cincinnati-Clermont (4 p.m.).
Shawnee State (17-10, 7-5 River States Conference) defeated Kentucky Christian in a straight set victory last Saturday (25-18, 25-17, 25-15) in a match that saw
Katelynn Boerger collect 11 kills on a .304 attack percentage and
Camille McIntosh add in six total blocks in the victory.
In the RSC East Division race, the Bears sit just a half-game back of Indiana-East and 1.5 games back of Rio Grande heading into a big weekend for Shawnee State in what is the next-to-last regular season weekend of volleyball action.
Shawnee State men's and women's swimming at Indiana Wesleyan, Saturday, Nov. 1, 1 p.m., De Voe Natatorium, Marion, Ind.
