Box Score 2 PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- The women's soccer program at Shawnee State celebrated
Lucia Arbide and
Robyn Drinkwater in its contest against Brescia (Ky.), while the men's soccer program salvaged a 1-1 tie in its doubleheader capping contest against the Bearcats in a River States Conference doubleheader that took place Saturday afternoon at Shawnee Turf in Portsmouth.
Arbide and Drinkwater were honored for their commitment to the Shawnee State women's soccer program prior to its match against Brescia, with Arbide appearing in her 40th career Shawnee State match in doing so. Drinkwater, who has led the Bears with six assists this season, has nine goals, 10 assists and 28 points for her Shawnee State career.
Shawnee State outshot Brescia by a 13-10 count in the match and got seven additional saves from
Harlee Brand in the scant 1-0 setback. Brand, who now has 89 saves in 2025, holds a GAA of 1.85.
In the men's contest, Shawnee State, who outshot Brescia 17-10, got a 61st minute equalizing goal from
Sekou Mara to tie the score at one apiece. The Shawnee State defense and goalkeeper
Toby Forsythe maintained its stout goals against average for the 2025 season as Forsythe's GAA is still at a single-season school record pace at 1.01 for the year.
The Shawnee State men's soccer program sits at 7-3-3 with a 3-2-1 River States Conference record in 2025 and currently holds the fourth position in the RSC Standings, while the Shawnee State women's soccer program holds a 3-10-1 record and is 2-4 in the RSC.
The women's and men's soccer program at Shawnee State return to action Thursday, Oct. 23 at Shawnee Turf when the Bears face Rio Grande at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in a pair of vitally important conference matches between the two foes.
