OXFORD, Ohio -- Behind the maiden trio of goals in her Shawnee State career that resulted in the Minford native's first career hat trick, Shawnee State freshman forward
Lexi Conkel was named as the River States Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by conference officials Monday afternoon.
Conkel, a prolific goal-scorer in high school who is the all-time leading female goal scorer in Scioto County history with 147 in her high school career, scored the first three goals of her college career in rapid succession Saturday to obtain her first career hat trick in a 8-0 victory over Kentucky Christian Saturday evening. Conkel scored in the 18th minute and twice within a 25-second span in the 20th minute to obtain her hat trick.
The freshman, who started in the contest, put up five shots and put all of her attempts on frame in 45 minutes of action before sitting the entire second half as SSU got additional players time on the field.
