The SSU Men's Soccer team hit the road to face the top-five-ranked Blue Raiders from Lindsey Wilson College. After an intense 90 minutes, the two teams put up 25 shots, none of which found the back of the net.
From the beginning of the first half, it was clear that it would be a physical battle between both teams. The Blue Raiders controlled the ball most of the game, but the Bears managed to hold them from scoring. Goalkeeper Eric Green saved the game for the Bears with 6 saves, of which 2 were vital.
Matheus Camargo starts the second half with a shot on goal saved by the Raiders keeper Pablo Costa. Both teams were desperate for a goal and found their last shots within one minute difference, Fernando De Ornelas in the minute 86 for the Bears, and Wilson Monwabisi for the Blue Raiders in the minute 87. Both shots were saved by keepers Eric Green and Pablo Costa. The game would end 0-0 for a tight game.
The Shawnee State Bears will be back in action at the Shawnee State Turf to face the Red Storm of the University of Rio Grande for their first conference game. The game starts at 8:00 P.M.
