The Shawnee State men's soccer team would host Campbellsville University for their second match of the season. Even though it was a close game, the Bears would fall 2-1 against the Tigers.
For the first half, the Tigers had seven shots and two corner kicks, while the Bears had 2 shots and 1 corner kick. In the first minutes, both teams would try to find their game and read the opposite team. In the 30th minute, Keenan Prince from Campbellsville would score the first goal of the game with a shot from outside the box. But the Bears would come back and score before the first half was over, at minute 42, the Bears would create a great play from the back that would result in a goal by Matheus Camargo.
The second half starts and both teams are ready to fight for a second goal and break the tied score. The Tigers would be the first to get the goal in the 62nd minute, by Felix Baubeng. As the game advances, it gets heated, and Dominic Batey for the Bears receives a red card leaving the team with just 10 players. But the Bears would fight back to try to tie the game. The Bears would get a last chance to score from a penalty kick at minute 88, but unfortunately, the keeper for the Tigers saved it, and the game ended with a score of 2-1 for Campbellsville.
The Bears will be on the road to face Indiana Northwest on September 1st. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
