The Shawnee State men's soccer team welcomed Oakland City University on Saturday evening for a tight match that ended 1-1, leaving the Bears with a 2-1-2 conference record.
The first half was a back-and-forth battle between the Bears and the Mighty Oaks. The two teams had three shots each, and five corners combined. The scoreboard would remain in zeros for both teams when the first half ended.
The second half started with a shot from Oakland City that hit the post. For the next 30 minutes, both teams battled, trying to get ahead and scoring the game's first goal. The first goal came for the Mighty Oaks in the 80th minute from a corner kick. The Bears rebounded quickly with their own goal for the draw in the 86-minute when Matheus Camargo put the ball in the back of the net. The game ended 1-1.
The Bears will host UC Clermont on Wednesday at the Shawnee Turf, the game starts at 7:30 PM.
