Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bears and Cougars Tie

The Shawnee State Men's soccer team welcomed the Cougars from UC Clermont on Wednesday night for a tight game that would end 1-1.

The first half started with an outstanding save from the Bears' keeper Eric Green, who avoided the ball going into the back of the net. The Bears were hungry to score their first goal, and this one came in the 5th minute when Guillermo Conejo put the ball into the back of the net after a pass from Matheus Camargo. The Bears tried to score more goals in the first half, but two of the shots hit the post and the keeper for the Cougars saved three more shots. The Cougars scored their only goal in the minute 35' and the first half ended with a 1-1 score.

For the second half, there were no goals even though both teams had opportunities to score. It was a back-and-forth battle, but the Bears had no luck finding the back of the net for the rest of the match. Green had 5 saves during the game that prevented the other team from scoring more goals. The game would end 1-1.

The SSU Men's Soccer team will travel to Pittsburg, PA, to face the Pioneers from Point Park on Saturday at 8:30 PM.
