The Shawnee State men's soccer team traveled to Indiana to face the Pomeroys from Saint Marys-of-the-Woods College on Saturday afternoon. The Bears took the win with a 3-1 score.
For the first half, both teams battled for control of the game and figured out the opponent's weakness. The Bears had three shots in the first 30 minutes, but they were saved by the Pomeroy's keeper. The first goal of the game was the Pomeroys in the 31st minute. With five minutes left for the first half, Joao Toledo found the first goal for the Bears and the equalizer for the game, assisted by Matt Stam.
The second half started, and the Bears were hungry for more goals. In the 72nd minute, Toledo scored his second goal of the game and helped the Bears take the lead. Dominic Batey scored the last goal of the game in minute 83. Kai Domagala had two important saves during the game that helped the Bears take the win with a score of 3-1 as the game ended.
The Shawnee State men's soccer team will hit the road to face Midway Univerity on Thursday afternoon. The game starts at 3:30 PM.
